Find Jessie A Home

Beautiful Jessie

Could you offer Jessie the ‘naughty torti’ a loving home?

She is about 18 months old, petite, spayed and very affectionate.

In true torti style though she does like to be an only cat and she does nip so will need to be with an experienced owner.

I have met Jessie myself and found her to be an absolute sweetie, very keen to be stroked, tried to get on my lap and had an intelligent engaging face. She did nip me a few times but it was more playful than aggressive and I think it’s just her way of saying no. She did immediately turn around to be made a fuss of again.

If I didn’t already have 2 cats I would happily have taken her home!

Personally I would say this is all part of her charm and an experienced owner wouldn’t find it a problem at all, however she wouldn’t enjoy being around young children.

She is currently at Peterborough Cat Rescue, do get in touch with them if you think this cheeky girl could be for you. DSC_1113

In our quest to find the right name for our as yet un-named kitty, we’ve amassed quite a sizeable list of potential cat names! Still don’t know what to call her (suggestions welcome) but hopefully the list might be of use to someone else! Picture of her cuteness at the bottom of the list.

Warning: Upsetting News. You Must Read If You Live In March, Cambs.

Message from Cat Welfare, Wisbech:

I NEED ALL OF YOUR HELP!!! PLEASE I need you all to pass this message on to everyone you know that has cats in the March Area. I have just had a very disturbing and distressing phone call from the Lady that runs Pet Search. PEOPLE ARE TORTURING CATS!! Cats are going missing, one has been found and the injuries to this cat are absolutely horrific and is now in the hands of the Police. Although it is hard to tell you what happened to it, I think you should be aware of its injuries and tell everyone to keep their cats under close observation until the culprits have been found. The cat was found with its head cut off, by a razor blade, along with all of its other bodily parts. Its whole body had been sliced with a blade and cigarette marks were also present on its body. I shudder to think what this cat must have gone through! It has made me go cold and in total shock that this is going on, what low-life in our society thinks this acceptable I do not know. I am so sorry to have to impart this awful news but you need to know.

100 Word Challenge For Grown Ups – Week #57

Posted on 13th September 2012 in 100WCGU/ cat/ cats

My first ever 100WCGU entry!

This week’s prompt is …returning to the routine…

The cat awoke. He stretched out a paw and felt that familiar ache in his shoulders. He noticed the sun was low in the sky and the grass was white-tipped. Time to feed, time to hunt. He scanned the skies, returning to the routine of his predecessors. A bird flew soundlessly above his head and landed on the old stump. Aching joints momentarily forgotten, he considered pouncing: tail twitching, claws outstretched. The back door opened and the old lady put down a saucer, the smell of warm fish wafted towards him. Who was he kidding; it was going to be fish for breakfast!

Funny Cats

I believe my favourite to be ‘killer smile’ although ‘ribbons’ and ‘innocent cat’ made me LOL too. Hence them being called LOLcats I guess!

Fleas, fleas and more fleas!

Posted on 15th July 2011 in cat/ cats/ fleas

Help!

My sweet little, butter-wouldn’t-melt, Maisy cat has got fleas.

Before you say it, yes I do treat her with Frontline. I do it every 5 weeks and yet it just doesn’t seem to be doing the job and the poor girl is constantly washing and scratching.

Bizarrely, my other cat, Elvis, doesn’t seem to be similarly afflicted.

I had coffee with a friend today who said that she is also finding the Frontline isn’t keeping the fleas away.

Which made me wonder – is anyone else finding this, and if so have you found a different treatment that works?

Help me get Maisy flea-free!
