Pavement Art

Doing the rounds on the email at the moment: some examples of pavement art by the über talented Edgar Mueller. In case you are unfamiliar with the concept, he paints shockingly realistic 3D scenes onto completely normal, flat pavement. Quite astonishing.

Astonishing indeed! The illusion, technique and execution is stunning! Haven’t heard of this guy, nor seen his work before, so thanks for sharing it Lisa.

I always find art fascinating but what I particulary like about these is that he has been able to paint it so that, viewed from an other angle, it appears to be 3D. Incredibly clever.

Wonder how long it takes him to complete each piece? I suppose it depends on complexity and weather! But he is clearly revelling in perspective, texture, colour and much more. I went to art school for four years and haven’t picked up a brush in over 10!
