Dinosaurs!
On Wednesday, we were very lucky to get a sneak peak at the new dinosaur exhibit at the Natural History Museum in London.
The ‘hands on’ interactive displays were brilliant and a great way of getting information over to technology hungry children!
Moving the items around, enlarging, scanning etc. All felt very CSI!
The displays were interesting and accessible with lots of things out to touch as well as information to read.
The pièce de résistance however was the animatronic dinosaurs – my rubbish photos in no way do them justice!
The moving heads, blinking eyes, rumbling floor and sound affects all make it feel very real.
We were also delighted to have a chat with a lovely lady there who confirmed that the shark tooth we found at Walton on the Naze recent is the real deal and approximately 20 million years old!
All in all, a fab day out. And with the science museum right next door it was well worth the trip to London.

Fantastic! I know an 11 year old boy who would love the dinosaur exhibit! And a 33 year old woman actually…:) xXx
It was good fun. My two are 9 & 11 and they both enjoyed it. x
That place looks amazing, we live at the other side of the country so probably won’t get around to going for a while, but it looks fabulous!!! Mind you that dinosaur at the top looks like it might bite….
You could prebook a travel inn and make a weekend of it. Fab as all museums are free and so much to see in london x
Thanks – now on our list of things to do for May – N will love it. Great post!
Have a great time! Loads of museums all clustered together, and if you’ve never been to the rainforest cafe then that is def worth a look in too x
